Alice Schroeder is a former CPA, Wall Street analyst and banker, and portfolio director. She serves on the board of Prudential plc, a FTSE 20 company, where she is a member of the risk committee and the audit committee. On the board of Quorum Health Corporation, a NYSE-listed health care facilities operator, she chairs the audit & compliance committee and serves on the nominating & governance committee. Since February 2018 she serves on the board of Natus Medical Incorporated, a NASDAQ-listed medical device maker. Ms. Schroeder was named to the 2018 list of “Directors to Watch” by Directors & Boards magazine. Ms. Schroeder formerly served on the board of Bank of America Merrill Lynch International, chaired its audit committee and served on its governance committee until the bank was Brexited in late 2018. She chaired the audit committee as a board member for Cetera Financial Group until its sale to RCS Capital Corp. As CEO and chair from 2014-2017 of WebTuner Corp., a Seattle-area hardware and software designer, she executed a turnaround that led to a successful exit when Showfer Media LLC acquired WebTuner Corp. in May 2017. She moved from WebTuner’s board to management at the request of the rest of the board to recapitalize the company after the departure of a founder CEO. While on the WebTuner board and as its CEO, she continued her portfolio board roles. Ms. Schroeder was a Managing Director and Senior Advisor in the equities division of Morgan Stanley until 2009, leading the global insurance research team, and Managing Director at CIBC Oppenheimer and PaineWebber, beginning her career on Wall Street in 1993. She was ranked #1 on the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team appeared on the team for eight years. She began her career as a CPA with Ernst & Young and spent two years as a project manager at the Financial Accounting Standards Board. Ms. Schroeder is the author of the #1 New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller, The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life, the story of Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway. The Snowball was called the “bible of capitalism” by the Washington Post, shortlisted for the Goldman Sachs/Financial Times best business book prize and featured on “best of” lists by numerous publications. Ms. Schroeder holds an MBA and BBA from the Red McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and was honored as an exemplary alumna by the School of Business and by the University for the centennial of its post-graduate education program.
